Synopsis
The Great Gatsby is the first large-scale immersive theatre production staged in Romania, transforming Bragadiru Palace into a living universe inspired by the atmosphere of the 1920s. There is no traditional division between stage and auditorium: the audience is invited to step into the 'Gatsby Palace,' freely wander through meticulously decorated rooms, discover stories unfolding simultaneously, and become part of the performance.
Spectators participate actively: they are invited to dance, to interact directly with the actors, and to choose their own path through the palace rooms. In this format, Filip Stoica's choreography plays a crucial role: it creates a fluid dynamic between the audience and the performers, blending period dance with contemporary insertions, so that movement becomes the connective tissue between theatrical space and party atmosphere. Themes: opulence, the fragility of the American Dream, the power of hope, and the weight of social illusions.
